Roger Clemens guilty?

I have posted a new poll.
As most of you are already aware, the FBI and the IRS are conducting a formal investigation to determine whether or not Roger Clemens perjured himself at the Feb. 13th hearing at the Congressional House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
I’m sorry we had the hearing. I regret [...]

MLB NL East Predictions

I recently predicted that the Mets would win the Eastern division and that the Braves would win the Wild Card…but could I have spoken too soon?
The NL East is basically a 3 team division this year, the Mets, Phillies, and the Braves.
The Mets lost one of their best pitchers (Tommy Glavine) but managed to [...]

Congress asks Justice Department to initiate criminal investigation on Roger Clemens

The Congressional Oversight Committe has drafted a letter that formally asks the Justice Department to initiate a criminal investigation on whether or not Roger Clemens committed perjury during the Feb. 13th hearing.
…Are they asking that Brian McNamee be investigated also? Nope.
…Could Brian McNamee wind up being investigated anyway? Possibly.
Good article and video from ESPN.com [...]

Don’t worry - it’s not scientific

jadarm has introduced fully non-scientific, freepable sports-related polling to the site. Don’t forget to vote at least once. Top of the page on the right.
Poll question will change weekly, or thereabouts.

UT VOLS are ranked 1st in the nation for the 1st time in history!

The Mighty UT Vols Mens Basketball team went into hostile territory (while ranked 2nd in the nation for the first time in UT history) and beat the #1 ranked team in the nation…which happened to be just across the field in the same state…the home of the Memphis Tigers…which, btw, were on their way to [...]

Welcome to Atlanta…Yunel Escobar!

The next cornerstone for the future of the Atlanta Braves? Quite possibly.
David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution seems to agree with most everyone on the issue…except of course Baseball Prospectus.
The heartiest laughter in the early part of Braves camp came when some Braves players and team officials saw a website scouting report that characterized Yunel Escobar [...]

More bad news for Belichick!

Belichick has said that he misinterpreted the league’s bylaws, telling Goodell that he thought it was permissible to use electronic equipment as long as the information was not used in the same game.
…yeah, for for the last 7 years including 3 NFL Championships.
“The rules are very, very clear. There is no need to be more [...]

2008 MLB Predictions

Associated Content released their 08′ predictions a little over a month ago…but a lot has happened since then.
Luke with the Sporting News released his predictions about the same time.
…Here are my picks for 08′.
NL Eastern Division:
1st place - New York Mets
2nd place - Atlanta Braves
3rd place - Philadelphia Phillies
4th place - Washington Nationals
5th place - [...]

Guilty until proven innocent ?

Baseball great Roger Clemens and former trainer Brian McNamee appeared before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to give, under oath, two completely different versions of the same story.
1. Should they have been there in the first place?
Well, maybe. When you consider that prior attendees have been Jose Canseco, Mark McQwire, Rafael Palmeiro, [...]

Who is the best pro athelete of our generation?

Generation may be the key word here…I am going to exceed the generation gap and actually go back around 40 to 50 years in some cases just to make this interesting.
This is an intriguing question. One that I do not think can be easily answered due to bias. Everyone has bias, …whether they are loyal [...]
