Federer vs. Nadal…makes me kind of reminisce about the good ol’ days of Johnny Mac and Jimmy Connors. (check out the high dollar wooden rackets!)

Nadal is probably as good an athlete as I have ever seen, …he absolutely owns clay courts…but Federer caught up to him in 2007 besting him in the Hamburg Masters.

I loved watching Pete Sampras, at the time I considered him the “Greg Maddux” of tennis…but Federer is putting a stamp on the sport that may never again be equaled.

Tennis is a young man’s game, even Roger suggests that the prime years are 22 to 25 years old, as opposed to a less strenuous sport, baseball, where the prime years are generally considered to be between 27 and 30 years old.

Roger is 28, just won another major, …and is still ranked #1 on the globe.

Tiger? Jordan? Manning? Phelps? James? Pujols?

Who dominates their own sport in today’s game more than Federer?

I will not limit the criteria to the living, however morbid some of you might think of drinking beer with a corpse may be, I want to give the question a bit of depth…as much depth as a question pertaining who you would want to get schnockered with can be.

So here goes…

You have to pick your top 3!

First: I am not going to choose a politician, …no, not Abraham Lincoln or George Washington or anyone like that (although partying it up with Clinton might be fun)…no, I figure, If I want to drink beer and get lied to again I can just get married and indulge myself 365 per for the rest of my natural life.

Second: I will not choose any of my “hero’s” from any major professional sports, …because they are not subject to the same rules and repercussions that you and I are on a daily basis. …no link needed.

…and C: I will not needlessly choose “hottie’s” like Anniston, Jolie, McAdams, or my Jack Russell Doc! It’s just shameless and has no place on such a dignified site such as this. (So I will save it for the other site…hehehe.)

My first pick?

1. Adam Sandler: He may not be the funniest guy ever, …but he seems good enough to me. He appears to know how to have fun, could be wrong tho’.

2. Andy Rooney: Yeah, I know he is an old croon…but he is still awesome. I love drinking beer with old prejudicial white people…and he is actually the voice of a generation, whether you want to hear it or not. I will agree with half of what he says, …and then laugh at the other half, …should have a helluva good time tho’.

3. With my last choice I am really wanting to say something like John Belushi, …or Chris Farley, …but I am thinking I may have to go with…

Seth MacFarlane.

…but he has to be drinking a beer too…or two.

He currently stands as possibly the best 3rd baseman in Atlanta history and perhaps Braves history. He is also one of the top 3 most prolific offensive switch-hitters of all time. One can only wonder, if [...]]]> Newsflash huh?

Nope, it is my belief that if the “boy-wonder” retired today he would finish his career in Cooperstown in 2015.

He currently stands as possibly the best 3rd baseman in Atlanta history and perhaps Braves history. He is also one of the top 3 most prolific offensive switch-hitters of all time. One can only wonder, if he hadn’t had the Hooters incident, …well, we might be seeing his commercials all day long right behind Peyton Manning’s.

There are certain numbers that are a given to enter the HOF. Usually the criteria, among hitters, are 3,000 hits or 500 HR’s. Chipper is on the threshold of both.

His career stats include:

2,406-Hits

426-HR

.307-Avg

.406-OBP

.947-OPS

…and he was also MVP in 1999.

Here is what Chipper, who is now 37 years old, will need to do in order to cement his place in MLB history.  This is based on projected years played.

If Chipper plays another:

3 years, he will need to average: 198 hits and 25 HR’s. (Doubtful.)

4 years, he will need to average: 149 hits and 19 HR’s. (Do-able.)

5 years, he will need to average: 119 hits and 15 HR’s. (VERY do-able.)

Let me put this into perspective, …and perhaps elaborate on the elite company that this monumental achievement will elevate him to.

There are only 10 people who have achieved the 3000 hit / 300 HR mark in all of baseball history. As it turns out, 24 pitchers have hit the 300 Win plateau...Clemens, Maddux, Glavine, and Johnson being the latest…that coming on the heels of sportscasters nationwide proclaiming that MLB will never again see another 300 game winner.

Even more, there are only 8 players with 3,000 hits and 400 HR’s, …and to top that…

only 4 players with 3,000 hits and 500 HR’s:

Hank Aaron

Willie Mays

Eddie Murray

Rafael Palmeiro (wont make the HOF because of the congressional finger wagging incident!)

Chipper can quite possibly be the fifth guy on this list.

…I can hear them in NY now as we speak, …..”Larry……Larry…”

It’s got to be humiliating when a guy beats your own team down so bad that he names his own SON after your home stadium!

Thats probably why they tore the crap-hole down.

Chipper is the absolute best pure hitter that I have ever seen come out of the Braves own system…or even traded for. He is a once in a life-time commodity for this franchise and I hope they allow him to go out on his own terms, …as I would have wished for Glavine and Smoltz as well.

I mean, he hit every reciever he threw to…its just Lane Kiffin’s fault that Crompton didnt know to hit the Orange instead of the White.

I might have to double check but I  think Crompton threw for more UCLA yardage than their own freshman QB.

What the hell are we supposed to do if we want an ice cream or something?

Shoot flares up into the air when we start to hear the [...]]]> Yeah, the guy (or girl, …who the hell knows?) drives through here like clockwork at 4:30 pm every single day. Problem is…he/she is driving 55 mph when he/she does so.

What the hell are we supposed to do if we want an ice cream or something?

Shoot flares up into the air when we start to hear the faint traces of “Three Blind Mice” hovering through the treetops?

Should I spike the road?

Should I go to ebay, buy, and assemble an American made RPG from Iranians and shoot a warning shot across the bow of his truck as he/she blazes through?

This guy (or girl, who knows?) has got to be even broker than I am.

When this guy/girl went through the initial on the job training for this position…they must have told him/her to go stand in the corner of a round room…and he/she hasnt quit running since.

…and along the same subject lines. I have noticed Ice Cream Trucks traveling the roads frequently at midnight or later in the Rossville area.

Now, having spent some good quality time in the downtown neighborhoods, I can attest to the fact that not all Ice Cream Trucks sell only Ice Cream.

No, I am not talking about popsicles or nachos either.

I am talking about the Doctor Feelgood stuff.

Now, I also know the police are all over the Rossville area by sheer experience. Do they not scratch their head when they see an Ice Cream Truck at one O’clock in the morning tearing ass through random neighborhoods?

I will shut up now, go to Wally World…and buy my own damned ice cream.
