Which Brave should NOT be enshrined into Cooperstown?

Well folks, there is another sports poll here…and its about, guess who, the Braves.

Everyone is welcome to vote…even the ones that voted last time that Maddux shouldnt make the Hall. Everyone is allowed here…no matter what their IQ is.

Today, I am just a bit curious after reading an article posted by MLB.COM in which Don Sutton…the [...]

Tommy Lasorda

A fitting tribute!

“When you say goodbye, a lot of times it’s not really goodbye,” Lasorda said. “It’s, ‘See you soon,’ or, ‘So long.’ But when we said goodbye there — it [...]

Greg Maddux

I have just posted another poll which should be up shortly. I want to know which team “cap” you think Greg Maddux should wear when he is inducted to the HOF in Cooperstown, OH.

True, he was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1984 amateur by Chicago Cubs scout Doug Mapson.

“I really believe this boy would [...]

Braves Spring Update

“Chipper had a great day,” Cox said. “He’s hit the ball hard all spring.”

That is classic Bobby Cox…he is a players’ “dream” manager.

Cox is a lot like ex-Braves’ ace Greg Maddux in that he feels that there are such things as “good” outs that should reflect well upon a batter and “weak, seeing eye, bloopers” [...]

Who is this guy???

A few years back he led all Georgia middle schools in 8th grade with 57 stolen bases without ever having been thrown out in his entire career…his name is up on the gymnasium wall!!

Every year, with one exception, he led his team in HR’s, RBI, runs scored, hits, BB, OB%, and average …with the exception being [...]

Roger Clemens guilty?

I have posted a new poll.

As most of you are already aware, the FBI and the IRS are conducting a formal investigation to determine whether or not Roger Clemens perjured himself at the Feb. 13th hearing at the Congressional House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

I’m sorry we had the hearing. I regret that we had [...]

MLB NL East Predictions

I recently predicted that the Mets would win the Eastern division and that the Braves would win the Wild Card…but could I have spoken too soon?

The NL East is basically a 3 team division this year, the Mets, Phillies, and the Braves.

The Mets lost one of their best pitchers (Tommy Glavine) but managed to replace him [...]

Congress asks Justice Department to initiate criminal investigation on Roger Clemens

The Congressional Oversight Committe has drafted a letter that formally asks the Justice Department to initiate a criminal investigation on whether or not Roger Clemens committed perjury during the Feb. 13th hearing.

…Are they asking that Brian McNamee be investigated also? Nope.

…Could Brian McNamee wind up being investigated anyway? Possibly.

Good article and video from ESPN.com on the [...]

Welcome to Atlanta…Yunel Escobar!

The next cornerstone for the future of the Atlanta Braves? Quite possibly.

David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution seems to agree with most everyone on the issue…except of course Baseball Prospectus.

The heartiest laughter in the early part of Braves camp came when some Braves players and team officials saw a website scouting report that characterized Yunel Escobar as [...]

2008 MLB Predictions

Associated Content released their 08′ predictions a little over a month ago…but a lot has happened since then.

Luke with the Sporting News released his predictions about the same time.

…Here are my picks for 08′.

NL Eastern Division:

1st place – New York Mets

2nd place – Atlanta Braves

3rd place – Philadelphia Phillies

4th place – Washington Nationals

5th place – Florida [...]
