Shooting the Messenger
Update: It appars the accusations against Gore in the Schweizer article mentioned in this post were mainly false.
Is it Tuesday morning yet? Has Neal Boortz updated his Nuze page yet? If not, then hold on a while longer. I’m posting this Monday, but having read this hit-piece from Sunday’s USAToday, courtesy of the Hoover Institution (Institution, indeed!)… I have no question about what will be appearing on Tuesday’s Nuze page.
All I ask is that the reader note the simple fact that there is not one substantive argument against the scientific consensus view on global warming given in Peter Schweizer’s article. I submit that this is because neither he, nor anyone else in the anti-conservation movement, has a susbstantive argument to make against the scientific view. Because they wish for Americans to disbelieve the science, and because they are unable to make a compelling case for why Americans should disbelieve the science, they are hoping to silence the story by shooting the messenger. Americans don’t know the names or views of climate scientists. If they can destroy (rightly or wrongly) Al Gore’s credibility in the minds of an audience that is just beginning to pay attention, they can keep the facts obscured for a while longer. I don’t think they should be allowed to succeed.
I wrote another dkos diary.

P.S. I guess Boortz made a liar of me. No mention of Al Gore on today’s Nuze.
