I’ve read about this before — it looks pretty far-fetched & not a lot of climate scientists are sympathetic. But who knows what may become viable if things get bad enough?

Smijer the comments attached to the article are great. I love reading comments. They are always more educational than the experts articles.
Anyway, if anybody thinks that the people in the world are going to change their behavior in the least little bit they are sadly mistaken. We are going to continue to release carbon dioxide in the largest amounts possible right up until the water is at the door.
But hell, with the way things are going in the Middle East maybe a good Nuclear Winter will cool things off a little bit.
Wow. I guess if you’re a Nobel Prize winner, you tend to think big. This looks to me like a last resort, something we might pursue once it becomes obvious to everyone (flooding everywhere, summer temperatures in the winter, no more polar ice caps) that something’s badly wrong. I can’t judge whether it’ll work, myself. Interesting, though.
