I heard a guy say on television the other day that the problem with those healthcare plans is that nobody reads them and nobody understands them.

He is wrong. Somebody writes them so there is somebody who knows all of the fine print and that is one of the reasons fine print exists.

If you are going to live in a “rules are rules” world then there are times when you just have to shake your head and wonder why.

Wal-mart’s bad behavior gets a lot of press, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the store down the street is any better.

True. There is probably a similar clause in every major healthcare plan.

Keeping costs down can be an ugly affair but low costs are what keep folks coming back. It is a damned if you do and damned if you don’t situation.

That doesn’t make me want to quit shopping at Wal-Mart. In fact, it kinda shows that they’re willing to do just about anything to keep their costs down. However, it does make me think twice about WORKING for Wal-Mart.

I’m not proud of it - but what it would take would be an alternative 5 minutes from both home and work, and prices that I could manage to afford. I did manage to sustain a boycott for myself (but not my family) for a few months.

I guess I could more easily hold out a boycott if I knew that whatever alternatives I was shopping with had better practices. Wal-mart’s bad behavior gets a lot of press, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the store down the street is any better.

Well, if that’s the kind of thing you hold against Wal-mart (and I would), I can’t imagine what it would take to get you to stop shopping there.
