Improvements

I’m a late adopter generally speaking, and this is true where it concerns blogging software. I just upgraded to 2.3 (from some very, very old version with lots of bugs) a few weeks ago, and have been having all kinds of fun looking for new plugins and widgets. Now, I hear 2.5 is coming out next week or something. Oh well, I almost caught up.

I like the calendar plugin. It looks kind of funny right now, because all 5 upcoming events listed in the sidebar are the same - “Molly Maguires”. However, if you hover your mouse over them, you’ll see that they are all different locations & dates. I don’t like this same plugin when configured as a calendar, because it thinks the first day of the week is Monday, and I can’t find a way to change that.

I’ve also installed Gravatars (Filosopho Gravatars plugin). I may swap that out for a hand-coded comment template, since I don’t like the configuration options that I can figure out on this plugin. But for now, they are there for posters who have one, and there’s an unattractive broken image tag for posters who don’t.

Question:
Do you like Gravatars?
Or, put another way,

Which Brave should NOT be enshrined into Cooperstown?

See mine? Do you like it? If you don’t know what a gravatar is, it’s the picture by your name when you comment. You can get one by registering your e-mail address at Gravatar.com. I’ve not caught them being a spammer or selling the address to spammers.

Gravatar’s are fine with me. I used to have one here. I don’t know if I still do or not. I know sometimes it shows up on comments I make at other sites and surprises me.
