Roger Clemens guilty?

I have posted a new poll.

As most of you are already aware, the FBI and the IRS are conducting a formal investigation to determine whether or not Roger Clemens perjured himself at the Feb. 13th hearing at the Congressional House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

I’m sorry we had the hearing. I regret that we had the hearing. And the only reason we had the hearing was because Roger Clemens and his lawyers insisted on it.” - House Oversight Committee Chairman Henry Waxman

So, …what are your thoughts??

Good to know that a private citizen is so powerful that they can force congress to convene a hearing upon their request. Hey, it must be the case, Henry Waxman said so.

My thoughts: Henry Waxman is an abominable fool who should be ashamed that he uttered such a remarkably ridiculous statement. In a just world, he’d be ousted by embarrassed constituents.

I understand your feelings about O’Henry but shouldnt Clemens be somewhat embarrassed as well?

Clemens has dug himself a publicity hole that he’s going to have trouble getting out of. I enjoy watching the man pitch. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I personally wish he could escape from this mess unscathed. Unfortunately the world doesn’t work that way and he’s going to go down in history with this mark hanging over his head. I’m tired of hearing about it. Leave him alone and let him play ball.

I am not saying that I disagree with you…I am just wondering why most people didnt react like this when Barry Bonds was being skewered.

Nice comment btw! :)

I am just wondering why most people didnt react like this when Barry Bonds was being skewered.

Because Clemens didn’t double in size within a span of two years and suddenly go from a career-high of 24 wins to something like 37 wins with a 147 MPH fastball all the while insulting everyone’s intelligence by claiming that it was all done naturally & after the age of 35, at that?

Dunno, maybe it’s because Clemens’ continued success followed his adding the split fingered fastball into his repertoire as his own fastball continually lost speed….or, maybe it’s because Clemens isn’t the biggest a-hole in sports over the last generation, as Bonds is. :)

People hated Bonds back when he was 185 pounds, because he acted like Barry Bonds.

Wow! :)
