Mark Teixeira reportedly selling TX home for new one in Atlanta area
This is all just rumors so far. I truly hope that there may be something to this.
Mark is going to be a free agent at the end of this season and might just be the best 1st baseman in MLB right behind Albert Pujols. Everyone from the Yankees to the Red Sox are expected to become involved in what will most likely be among the most lucrative contracts ever given to a player…leaving most to wonder if the Braves could even compete.
The Braves gave up a lot to acquire Tex from the Rangers, most notably Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Elvis Andrus. It would make the trade all the more better for the Braves to actually sign him long term but the Braves have long had a standing policy not to negotiate with super agent Scott Boras. But here is the rub, … the Braves general manager who instituted that policy is now serving the team in a different capacity and Frank Wren is now the acting GM. Also, and this is still a rumor at this time and the fellow I am quoting will not reveal his source, there is word that Mark Teixeira is fixing to fire Scott Boras.
Marks’ TX pad is definately up for sell and word is that he is actively looking for a new home in the Atlanta area.
Is it really possible that the Braves could ink him to a long term deal pretty soon?

I would take Derrek Lee, Ryan Howard, and Prince Fielder over Texiera immediately, without question.
But he ain’t bad.
