Tête-à-Tête-Tête

Tauren Poole, one of the greatest athletes I have ever seen on a high school football field, has enrolled at the University of Tennessee.

I look forward to watching him play at the college level.

At the high school level he was a man among boys. He has incredible speed and watching him run reminded me of Gayle Sayers. Besides speed his ability to seemingly see all of the field at one time made him a wonder to watch. His graceful moves and surprising power left the fans of opposing teams shaking their heads. I always sit on the away side at our home games and it was fun for four years just listening to the folks around me say, “DAMN!”

Not only is he a wonderful football player but the entire community will attest to his honor off the field.

I wish him nothing but the best. I will pull for him every Saturday in the fall (except for one) and I do hope that he does well up there in Neyland Stadium.

Friday nights will not be the same without him around here anymore.
