Back to the grind
Hope everybody had a great Christmas and New Year.
I can only hope that 2008 will be as good to me as 2007 was.
Thanks to the inspiration of Jay G and Ricky I wound up losing 61.6 pounds in 2007. I ended the year at 271.4. I gained nothing over the holidays and it was not even that hard to stay even. Sure I didn’t lose anything but staying even was a major accomplishment in my mind. I am sure that is the first time this has ever happened in my life. Usually I am miserable at the end of the year with all kinds of resolutions to do better. This year I just resolve to do the best I can and let the chips fall where they may.
I hope to lose 40 pounds this year. The encouragement I get from you guys is very helpful. I still have quite a ways to go but I am closer now than I was at this time last year.
The Georgia Bulldogs destroyed Hawaii last night and I watched every minute even though it meant staying up until 1:00 AM. When the season started my best case scenerio had Georgia winning 9 games. Never would I have thought that they would win the Sugar Bowl with the young team that they had to work with. It turned out to be a wonderful season.
For the last 11 days I have been completely removed from world news and politics. For the last 11 days it has been as if I was on a deserted island enjoying family and football. Getting back into the swing of things is going to be tough.
But I will get back into the swing of things. It may take me a couple of weeks to get focused but I also know that before I know it the end of this year will be here.
Time keeps on slippin’, slippin, slippin, into the future.

2007 has indeed been good to you! Health, happiness and some damn fine football. For what more can a man ask? ;-D
