Hello, World
Been a while since I shouted out at you all. Lot of water under the bridge. I haven’t been doing much worth reporting on, but things are generally ok. The Bible classes continue, but now that they are moved to the Adult Forum, they go only once a month & the atmosphere is a little different (& a little more challenging). Nov. 25 we’re going to wade into the Pauline epistles - a lot more there than can be covered in one hour, but we’ll try to hit the high points and get the general themes. Of course, later on, we may hit some specific letters. I think I learn more than I teach every time I prepare one of these sessions, so it’s a good stretch for me, too. No new uni tricks, I’m sorry to report, but I still ride at least once a week. I’m reading You Just Don’t Understand: Women and Men in Conversation, by Deborah Tannen. It’s one of those good, interesting and useful books that nonetheless makes me want to critique it to death. I’ve been considering doing that here. Don’t get me wrong - I’m picking up a lot of interesting and useful insights from the book - it’s just that there are some potholes that the wheels land squarely in, bumping me out of my seat every time I read through them. Anyway, if I start going on about pop-psy books on here, just bear with me, ok?

I would love to see a critique of that book.
My experience has been that it is more useful to use your ears than your mouth when you talk to a woman.
