For the first time this year I weigh more at the end of the month than I did at the start.

I gained .2 pounds over the last 30 days.

I walked to the scales this morning like a criminal to the gallows. I knew it was not going to be good. When Tennessee beat Georgia a couple of weeks ago I tried to drown my sorrows in buffalo wings and chicken strips. But you just can’t cover up pain with pleasure no matter how hard you try.

For the next 30 days I am going to have to buckle down and be a good boy. I must prepare myself for the upcoming food fests. How I am going to get through the holidays without gaining 15 pounds I do not know.

68 shopping days until Christmas.

I never thought of that Ben. I’ll consider myself even.

And I was smiling when I got off of ‘em this morning anyway. Considering how undisciplined I was all of last month I figure 2/10’s of a pound ain’t a hell of a price to pay.

Well, if that’s a bad month, you’re doing pretty well. Keep smiling!

2/10s of a pound is a moderate sized piss to me. :)

I must prepare myself for the upcoming food fests. How I am going to get through the holidays without gaining 15 pounds I do not know.

Here’s my formula (for we have the same thing, with family reunions & holidays every other weekend starting in Sept: eat a disciplined diet throughout the week, five days with zero deviations and one day of having a cheat snack or two (not a cheat meal, but maybe a Little Debbie snack cake or a slice of pie or the like, sometime during the week) and one day of absolute gluttony. The body will be more accustomed to the six days of healthy eating & thus treat the gluttony as an abberation (as it is).

C’mon, we only live on this world one time, no way someone should go an entire month trying to eat bean curds, celery and glasses of water. Eat healthy, have your carbs earlier in the day (meaning salads for dinner, sans crackers) and everything will be fine.

Buck, your body has now officially adjusted to your new ’self’ & is used to getting by on what you’ve been eating for the past year or so. Time for a quick & radical change to ’shock’ it, whether it be no carbs at night or in uptick in the cardio (boooo!), time for a change.

BTW, keeping the same weight for an entire month isn’t so bad when you keep in mind that you’re obviously setting aside Saturdays for UGA football. :)
Chances are, you’re still having the effects from the wings & stuff. Make sure you weigh on the morning BEFORE the gluttony (for me, it’s Saturday mornings), because all that salt will keep the water weight on. Yeah, I know it cancels out in the long run, but if you’re gauging things on a scale, a few MGs of salt will make a big difference, hence my first sentence. :)

I know that if I eat Mexican (heavy on the chips & salsa) that I’ll weigh THREE POUNDS more the next morning that I did the previous day. I have detailed spreadsheets to prove it.

How the HELL did I miss this one?

Buck, seriously, being up by less than half a pound after admittedly going off the diet in a big way is pretty darn good…

Ricky’s got an excellent plan there, I gotta say. I’ve been following my own version thereof for the past six months, and I’ve been hovering around the same 6 pound stretch for that time.

I’m looking forward to Christmas this year. :)

I did a little tweaking and I weighed in at 273.4 this morning.

But God help me I am on my way to Dollywood. The land of barbecue and funnel cakes.

Jay I hope that this time next year I will be able to look forward to Christmas and Thanksgiving.
