Happy Birthday To My Homeland

I have already told you about my Glorious Autumn celebration.

What I didn’t realize at the time is that it was the Earths birthday.

Next year I will have a cake. God knows that at that time of morning I could use the candles.

And I am going to make my wife sit up and sing Happy Birthday.

She said for better or for worse just like I did. She can start living up to her end of the deal.

I think it would be proper to just go ahead and have a real celebration on October 23rd.

Ussher’s arrival at the date of Oct. 23 was determined based on the fact that most peoples of antiquity, especially the Jews, started their calendar at harvest time. Ussher concluded there must be good reason for this, so he chose the first Sunday following autumnal equinox.

Although the autumnal equinox is Sept. 21 today, that is only because of historical calendar-juggling to make the years come out right.

Finally. Something to look forward to.

ummmm… harvest time? No - too obvious…

so he chose the first Sunday following autumnal equinox.

Ah - yes - they were marking the introduction of light to the universe. How could I have missed that?

Well, Happy Birthday, cosmos!

When the Earth was born the corn was already ready to be picked.

And that is all that matters.

And kids today think that convenience stores are just a modern thing. Shows how much they know!
