A motorist who has a near miss, for instance, might feel relieved at his lucky escape. But in a parallel universe, another version of the same driver will have been killed. Yet another universe will see the motorist recover after treatment in hospital. The number of alternative scenarios is endless.

There are a few researchers who theorize that those people (we all know at least one) who seem to “not be all there (here)” are actually slipping into parallel dimensions all the time. That takes daydreaming into a whole new, ahem, realm.

There was a time in my life I spent slippin’ in and out of parallel dimensions.

I know they are there. I’ve visited them.

I usually paid dearly for it the next morning.
