Actually, I don't think a 'splurge' day would do you harm. Your body has obviously adjusted to the decreased caloric intake and is now trying to 'get by' with what you're giving it --- much like all those people who go on quasi-starvation diets and brag "I lost twelve hundred pounds in three weeks", only to gain it back twice-fold within a year because all they did was temporarily starve & then watch their body pack on the fat because it did what it's supposed to do & shut down the metabolism to 'get by -- so a jolt or two won't hurt.

A few bursts of high-intensity exercise (which could mean a brisk walk that makes one's heart race, as my Tues. walk did...wow, I'm getting old) would also shock the system.

Seriously, though, I'd say you're due for a day of hedonism and gluttony. Your body won't know what to do if it were to be hit by, say, 5K calories because it's used to less than half that, so it'd kick into gear short-term and burn it off. That's a good tweak. I think the exercise is a bad tweak in comparison, but they both can do wonders.

Throw on an entire rack of ribs & see what happens a week later. My guess is it does you no harm & probably a bit of good mentally as well as satiating the taste buds.

Heck, I'm doing with a LOT less nowadays & am drinking a lot of my protein in order to burn off some fat and I know that I 'need' that splurge day to look forward to. Not that I'm obsessing over a large burrito with sauce on Saturday or anything.

Tick, tick, tick.

Johnny Carino’s is a great Italian restaurant.

I cheated once last month at a place called Shane's Rib Shack. I had forgotten how good ribs were. I only ate 1/4 rib as opposed to my old standard full rack.
But I am tweaking it a little this month myself even though I swore I was not going to do that. I will somehow retain my will to live. I absolutely have to get to 274 by mid-August. Here I am bustin' my ass just to get to where Jay was when he started.

As I said at Jay's, I'm at a plateau as well. So, I've tweaked a few things to 'shock' my body & am awaiting the initial results. The first 5 days brought a quick reduction in the % body-fat, so things are beginning off well, but this week it's stalled again. And, this hurts to type, but I'm regrettably forced to look at my.....weight....and monitor it because I'm looking to drop a few pounds of fat & simply maintain muscle (can't really gain muscle if you're consuming fewer calories than burning....it's possible, but about as probable as someone 5'2" being able to dunk a basketball).

We'll both break through the barrier. The human body is a marvelous thing and ours is trying to adapt to what we're doing to it so that it doesn't change....so, we gotta keep throwing different things at it to keep the momentum going.

On a side note: took a quick vacation in Pigeon Forge over the 4th: Johnny Carino's is a great Italian restaurant. Found out that there's one 30 min. from my home so I now have a new 'cheat' restaurant whenever I want to treat myself.

Seriously, buck, thanks for the kind words. Sorry I haven't added you guys sooner, actually. I *did* mention I was lazy, right? :)

And once again, congrats on the weight loss. Keep at it. I'm sure you'll be at 250 - 260 before you know it!
