Quote of the day

“I don’t believe my role is to replace the verdict of a jury with my own,” - George W. Bush on why he signed death warrants for 152 inmates as governor of Texas.

You have to love the rich irony of it.

I know that Libby did not get a pardon. Yet. But anybody who does not believe he will get one eventually just does not follow politics very closely.

I enjoyed (if that’s the word…) Sean’s take on the hypocrisy.

Weirdly, I wasn’t among those very upset by the commuted sentence. I think the quarter mil fine was a lot more appropriate to the crime anyway.

If/when the pardon comes down - that will piss me off. I’ll wait until then.
