RW is suspending business indefinitely, and that makes me sad. Cheers to you, RW & all the best in everything you do. Come back if and when you can - you’ll have plenty of folks eager to visit.

Darn, I hit the ‘post’ button and the ‘work’ I was doing in the background (ahem, downloading cracks to software, ahem) loaded up my PC with malware and I crapped out….still can’t get things going.
Hey, I’ll still be here as much as always, gents. I’ll prolly type just as much in various comments sections…..I was just wasting everyone’s time with those non-stop “quote of the day” things that were really redundant.
I’m not ‘going’ anywhere, I’m just shutting down the political stuff at the blog since, among other things, there are a few zillion other places that say the same thing.
I never considered my time over there wasted. And it is good to know you will still be around. I’m sure I will see you over at MArooned from time to time. And who knows where else.
BTW, smijer, thanks to you we’re expecting the robot to arrive tomorrow. I’m on my backup computer so I don’t have the link to the exact one, but my wife & kids are on vacation at Myrtle Beach with the in-laws and last night’s “phone call to daddy” started off not with ‘hello’, not with ‘I miss you Daddy’, but with “do you have my robot”?
Enough to make a grown man cry (several times, already).
Thanks, RW - I’m glad to know I was some help. I hope his robot lives up to his expectations of it!
Ah, slowly getting the PC back in biz (ugh, malware is ATROCIOUS). Here was his choice. A fantastic price, too.
BTW, they called me at 5:30 while I was in the grocery store and his first words were “hey, Daddy, do you have my robot?” No matter what happens, you have made a small impact on my son’s life — that is worth more than any 2,000 political post on the internet could ever be.
And, no, I won’t give you any sort of finder’s fee should he decide to grow up & become an aeronautical engineer & make buckoo bucks. All yer gettin’ is “thanks”. ![]()
Make that “2,000 word political post”, with apologies to Glenn Greenwald when he’s being pithy. ![]()
Good to know RickyJoeBob is walking with the Lord…so to speak.
Update: He has the remote control assembled. Did it all by himself…I knew he was intelligent but, wow, that was some pretty intricate stuff that he did with absolutely no help whatsoever.
Now, I had to go in last night and take some of the screws out because he’d used the long screw instead of the medium sized, which left the ends sticking out, so he no longer can say that he had no help, but he’s going back and re-assembling that part again so that he can say that he put it together by himself. I never thought he could amaze me any more than he already did….wow.
Hi, Mr. Cabot. What, no “Giles” persona?
Damn that is painful. Ricky was one of my daily visits. I’ll miss him. I’ll miss him a lot.
