Band Feature
This weekend: Sophmore kid went to Junior prom (date was a Junior), I had accidental meeting with some (very) old friends downtown, church of course, and a visit to the Four Bridges Arts Festival, which was very nice. I’m anything but an art snob, but I can say I was very impressed by several of the exhibitions.
Performing at the festival, among others, was the first t-t-t Featured Band, with whom I was also very impressed, though I’m afraid you’ll have to see them live around town (they are Chattanooga based), since their web presence is pretty thin, and the few clips available don’t do them justice.
The Ogya Band (warning: myspace link) is:
…a new world music band , based in Chatttanooga TN. Founded by Kofi Mawuko, a Ghanaian based in Chattanooga TN, comprised of well experienced musicians who have played with some world renowed musicians and has toured the world. Ogya band is a high energy band that will make you dance and dance and dance till youre out of breath.
Ok, so I’m not big on dancing, so I managed to keep my breath, but this is definitely a “don’t miss” if you get a chance to catch a performance. Be sure to request “No Woman No Cry”.
