Osman Chowdhury

I was really impressed by the honesty of this New York cab driver.

It is easy to believe that all people are crooks and that the world is full of greed and dishonesty.

People like Osman Chowdhury help restore my faith in human beings.

I hope someday he becomes the world’s most successful cab driver. But somehow I believe that he may argue that he already is.

he did what was the Muslim thing to do!

John - the Muslim religion doesn’t hold the patent on honesty. He did the “right” - the “human” - the “honest” thing. That such behavior is encouraged by the Muslim religion is fine. It’s also encouraged by the Christian religion, by the Humanist tradition, the Buddhist tradition, and the Boy Scout motto. But the conscience, not the religion - not the convention, not the tribe, gets the credit.
