Well after the annual Jacksonville Pants Pissin’ that we do most every year it is on to Kentucky. I am glad the game is at 12:30 tomorrow. When it is over I will still have some daylight left to do other things.
I didn’t even watch the Jacksonville nightmare last week. I had purposely missed the LSU game thinking it might be good luck and it worked. So before the Florida game I figured what the hell. I’ll miss it too. Maybe if I am not watching we will actually win. Didn’t work out that way. I still have it recorded but I don’t think I will ever be able to put myself through the actual torture of watching it.
My wife and I spent last Saturday by first having lunch at The Dillard House. It was the first time in my life that I have ever been there. I have driven by it more times than I can count over the years but have never stopped. It was well worth the time and money.
Then we took the back roads up to Highlands, Cashiers, Sapphire Valley and back over to Sylva. I am a firm believer that I live in the most beautiful part of the country that there is. Maybe everybody feels that way about their home but nobody can love theirs any more than I love mine. By the time I got the first report via text about the ball game I was sitting by a river under a bridge just outside of Sylva and frankly my dears I did not give a damn. Every text brought a worse score but it didn’t matter to me.
I reminded my wife while we were sitting by that river that I missed the entire 1980 Georgia National Championship football season because I was courting her up in those mountains. She was going to school in Asheville at the time. She laughed like she always does and reminded me that it has been the smartest thing I ever did. And it is.
But maybe the Dawgs can win tomorrow and then beat Auburn and Tech. Maybe wind up playing Ohio State in a bowl game. The football season will be gone quicker than the leaves can fall from the trees.
And hopefully I will then be looking forward to another one.

Shouldnt have been that close…I didnt think anyway.
I am liking Stafford more and more everytime I see him play.
My fear is that this might be the last year you see Stafford or Moreno play for Georgia.
And that will make next year pure hell.
