I was required to fail one before I could take my job. That one must manage to squeeze under an extremely low bar to work here was reinforced in our quarterly meeting today in a big, big, big way.

No doubt. From where I sit damn near everybody believes in the talking snake and I don’t really have a huge problem with that. People can believe whatever they want to believe. And I also don’t look at them as being dumb asses. Hell I was raised to believe in the talking snake but over the years I have grown to believe that the story is alluding to the inner urgings of our “reptilian nature” rather than an actual boa constrictor slithering down from a tree limb.

But hey. That’s just me. And I never had to take an IQ test to do what I do for a living either.

That was Mark Pryor, (D) Arkansas. I think he was taking a jab at the Brownbacks and their ilk in Congress.

Funny thing is that a lot of truly smart people believe in the talking snake. Not a whole lot… but a lot. It’s not that hard to rationalize the idea that a supernatural entity like Satan could possess a snake and make it talk, if one has sufficient motivation to make that rationalization.

It was the way that the Senator giggled when he said, “You don’t have to take an IQ test to make it into the Senate” that kept me watching the trailer over and over.

Which Senator was that? Seems like I have seen the face but I can’t put a name to it.

I sent the trailer to my brother. He said he would definitely see the movie if he could tear himself through the protest lines the churches will set up in front of the theater.

Other than that… I cracked up at the expression on the faces of the two “gay Muslim activists” at the remark that they must have big ones…

He even pisses me off from time to time, and I usually have a pretty good sense of humor. Frankly, I find his demeanor very offputting, even though he has a razor sharp wit that I can’t help but appreciate.

The trailer certainly didn’t piss me off. I’ll be looking forward to it, in fact.

Though I expect that there will be a lot of *cringe* moments in the film itself…
