“Boredom overtook him, and he began to speak.”
– Kenny Rogers, on the Gambler

Buck, 282 isn’t a bad plateau. And remember, a plateau is a plateau – if you get the itch to shed some more, give it some time and tweak the activity level up a calorie or two. I live my life jumping between plateaus… often as not, jumping backward to previous ones. I’m kind of at one now, where I feel I’m maxed out on time and energy, and still not doing what I’d like to be doing in a lot of ways – and still bored enough to make videos like this – another use for the MonoWheel:

Camera man’s comment, not audible here, was “if you can’t ride it, eat it.”

I think that you all are owed a smoking update, but I won’t bore you too much.

Sure enough the second week is tougher (especially since that’s when I ditched the magic meds – probably shouldn’t have). Sure enough, it isn’t really much of a big deal any more. I jones from time to time, but it passes easily & quickly and the bulk of the time I don’t even think about it. I guess it’s been a month now – I haven’t been doing a good job counting. If I forget an update, please assume the best. I promise to jump on-line & confess if things go awry.

“if you can’t ride it, eat it.”

There is so much that can be done with that. I think I will leave it alone.
Where are you filming these videos? The place looks so tranquil and serene (except for the guy that is riding and eating his unicycle)

  • Buck, that’s a little more than walking distance from my house. It’s the Tennessee River Gorge, at the boat ramps at bottom of the TVA Raccoon Mountain water pumping facility. The elevated area behind me in the video is part of the Cumberland Plateau, and I think it’s technically a crop of Signal Mountain, but it isn’t where most people think of when they think Signal. I like to hike at the top of that gorge – maybe I can bring back some pictures when I go on another clear day. Sometimes the haze screws everything up, but when it’s clear, it’s gorgeous.

  • If a bear was riding a unicycle, but nobody saw him riding the unicycle, then was the bear really riding the unicycle? And if he wasnt then what was the bear doing? And why are you watching the bear? Would you like for the bear to watch you? What did this bear ever do to you?
