The Departed
If there is a better actor that Jack Nicholson I don’t know who it is. He puts in an absolutely masterful performance and I have now officially learned never to believe that Nicholson has done his best work. He seems to get better with every movie he makes.
DiCaprio, Damon, Wahlberg, Sheen and Baldwin all do incredible jobs. The casting was genius.
Everything in the movie fits together perfectly and there is such a flurry of activity in the last 15 minutes that you will leave the theatre with your head spinning.
One word of warning and this probably only applies to those males 45 years old or older. Do not and I repeat do not drink the 32 oz soft drink while eating popcorn. The movie is 150 minutes long and even though it is a very quick and enjoyable 150 minutes my bladder was beginning to vehemently disagree with me about 145 minutes into it.
But you can’t afford to miss one minute of the movie. Too many things are happening too fast.
I love watching great actors act and The Departed gave me plenty of that.
Martin Scorsese has created yet another masterpiece.
