Maurice Clarett

Of all the words of tongue or pen, the saddest are “what might have been.”

It sickened me to the very depths of my being when I read this

he looked over at his mother who was sobbing and holding his 8-week-old daughter while sitting next to his girlfriend.

There is nothing that breaks my heart like squandered opportunity. Clarett was an extremely talented athlete who was within less than an eyelash of the mother lode. He had all of the talent and has been given every opportunity. And now, nothing.

As sick as this makes me I can only imagine how devastated his mother and his girlfriend are.

It must be nice to be able to take the “to hell with him, he made his bed now let him sleep in it” attitude. But I just cannot get the image of his mother, his girlfriend and his 8 week old daughter out of my mind.

Damn, what a mess he made.

It’s pretty unreal. And sad.
