		<description>Yeah, ambition &#038; arrogance continually circumscribe what conscience a politician may have... but intelligence does eventually, sometimes, offer a way out. 

Frist knew better on stem cells when &lt;i&gt;he&lt;/i&gt; opposed the funding... Eventually, it was an intelligent look at the political landscape in 2008 that brought him around.  That's the value of intelligence on the other side.  Other morons in the Congress are so galvanized by ideology that they won't take an intelligent look at the issue itself, much less how it might affect their own political futures.</description>

		<description>Thanks for the plug! I know I was especially hard on Corker, but if he WAS using his brain, he wouldn't be denying established science in favor of sucking up to the right wing. The thing that scares me about that sort of behavior is that once a politician starts sucking, he can't stop -- there's always the next race to worry about...</description>
